Dog Walking in Castle Archdale

It’s a Dog’s Life in Enniskillen! When it comes to midweek or weekend getaways, no trip is complete if you have to leave a man’s best friend at home. With so many pet-friendly places to explore in Enniskillen, Belmore Court & Motel has put together some fantastic ideas to enjoy Fermanagh that will guarantee the tail-wagging seal of approval.

Grab The Lead and Get Ready For a Walk

  • Enniskillen Dog Park

The Fermanagh Omagh District Council has provided a fully enclosed dog park in Henry Street Enniskillen. This park is open all day every day to provide a safe and secure space for dog owners to exercise their pets while off the lead.

  • Castlecoole Lake Walk Trail

With acres of parkland to explore, dogs are also welcome at Castle Coole as there are plenty of opportunities for running and splashing through the Fermanagh estate. Take a pleasant, gentle walk around the tranquil Lough Coole, spotting wildlife and glimpses of the mansion house on the way. The two trails available at Castle Coole are the Beech Trail and Lake Walk Trail, which are both dog-friendly walks for you and your furry friend to enjoy.

  • Topped Mountain

A quiet pet-friendly walk just 10 minutes outside of Enniskillen is Topped Mountain. While the name would suggest a hike is required, Topped Mountain is in fact a small hill. This is a great place to bring your dog for a short walk, and not only will you get some exercise the views will also take your breath away. Views from the top offer a 360-degree look out over all of Fermanagh and, on a good day, you can even see as far as the Sperrin Mountains. Topped Mountain is the perfect place for a quick evening walk or Sunday stroll all year round with your dog.

  • Castle Archdale Country Park

Castle Archdale Country Park is a real treat if you are looking for something a little longer to tire out an energetic dog. The country park has several paths that allow you to encompass everything from historic sites, wildflower meadows, dense forestry and spectacular lakeshore views. If it’s a good day and your dog needs to cool off they can always take a refreshing dip in the lake, just remember a towel to dry off!
