Forest Walk
BIG DOG FOREST WALK
Part of the Cuilcagh Lakelands UNESCO Global Geopark, Big Dog Forest Walk is a beautiful short walk that will allow you and your four-legged friend to explore some of County Fermanagh’s best upland landscapes.
For a more easygoing stroll, you can enjoy a dander around the grounds of Florence Court, the former home to the Cole family, the Earls of Enniskillen. This magnificent National Trust estate is surrounded by a large area of parkland, garden and woodland, with breathtaking views to Benaughlin and the Cuilcagh Mountains!
With all that walking around the lakes, through the forests and up the mountains of Fermanagh, you and your pooch will need somewhere to rest. There’s no shortage of choices here.

CASTLE COOLE LAKE WALK TRAIL
Take a pleasant, gentle walk around the tranquil Lough Coole, spotting wildlife and glimpses of the mansion house. (charges may apply)
The Castle Coole Lake Walk Trail is situated only a short distance from Belmore Court & Motel.
This path passes the site of the original Queen Anne house. Shortly after passing the boathouse, a gravel path to your left reaches the shore of the Lough. Take a stroll down to see if you can spot the resident swans before returning to the path and continuing your walk.

The historic estate, located 20 minutes from Enniskillen, offers miles upon miles of charming woodland trails surrounded by streams and eye-catching flower gardens.
For those looking for a gentle stroll with their dog, choose the Blue Trail. For dog owners who want to stretch their legs out and take in the views from the forest park, take the Red Trail which is roughly 9km long.

The National Trust Property at Crom with 2,000 acres is made up of tranquil islands and ancient woodlands. One of Ireland’s most important conservation areas, the landscape of Crom is home to a wealth of wildlife including beautiful butterflies, wild deer and the elusive pine marten. Leave the road behind and hire your boat at the jetty.
