Behind the Shine: Our Award-Winning Housekeeping at Belmore Court & Motel
Clean rooms don’t happen by accident. At Belmore Court & Motel, they’re the result of a dedicated team, a genuine commitment to sustainability, and more than three decades of doing things properly.
When guests check into Belmore Court & Motel, one of the first things they notice is just how clean everything is. Not hotel-clean in a generic, impersonal way — genuinely, carefully, thoroughly clean. That standard didn’t happen overnight, and it hasn’t stayed there by accident. Our housekeeping team is the heartbeat of this property, and their work is recognised across Northern Ireland as among the very best in the industry.
Rooms are serviced upon request as part of our commitment to sustainability
7 Times Northern Ireland’s Best: The Numbers Behind the Standard
The Northern Ireland Hotels Federation (NIHF) has awarded the Belmore Court & Motel Housekeeping Team of the Year honours an impressive seven times — in 2011, 2014, 2015, 2018, 2019, 2020, and most recently in 2024. Motel Winning once is a great achievement. Winning seven times over 15 years tells a different story entirely — one of consistent standards, strong leadership, and a team that takes real pride in their work.
We are especially proud to be the only property in Fermanagh or Tyrone to have made it through to the finals across all four categories of the NIHF housekeeping competition. Motel In a region with no shortage of fine accommodation, that distinction means a great deal to us.
Our housekeeping team works quietly and diligently — often unseen by guests — yet their contribution shapes every single stay. From perfectly pressed linens to spotless bathrooms, from restocked amenities to the small details that make a room feel genuinely welcoming, this is skilled, physical, demanding work done to a very high standard every single day.
Why Rooms Are Serviced on Request: Our Sustainability Commitment
At Belmore Court & Motel, outstanding housekeeping sits alongside a firm commitment to protecting the environment. As the only Green Tourism Gold certified accommodation in County Fermanagh — and the first accommodation in the county to earn that distinction — we take our environmental responsibilities seriously.
Part of that commitment means we’ve adopted a rooms-on-request housekeeping policy for guests staying more than one night. Rather than entering every room daily as a matter of routine, our team will fully service your room when you request it. This is a deliberate, principled choice — not a cut in service.
Here’s why it matters:
- Water conservation: Daily linen and towel changes across 60 rooms consume enormous volumes of water and energy. By washing only when genuinely needed, we reduce our water use significantly.
- Chemical reduction: Fewer daily cleans mean fewer cleaning products entering the water system — better for Fermanagh’s waterways and lakes.
- Energy savings: Lower laundry volumes translate directly into reduced electricity and gas use.
- Carbon reduction: We’ve already achieved an 85% reduction in carbon emissions and are committed to reaching Carbon Net Zero by 2030. Every small change contributes to that goal.
This approach aligns with what environmentally conscious guests already do at home. You wouldn’t wash your towels every single day — and with fresh rooms guaranteed at check-in and servicing available whenever you need it, there’s no compromise to your comfort.
Simply let reception know if you’d like your room serviced, fresh towels, or any amenities restocked. Our housekeeping team will take care of it promptly.
A Word on Early and Late Checkouts
Our housekeeping team work incredibly hard across a busy property, and the turnaround between departures and arrivals is one of the most time-pressured parts of their day. With this in mind, we kindly ask guests to be aware that early check-in and late checkout requests are taken on the basis of availability and will be prioritised in the order they are received.
Standard check-in is from 3:00 pm and checkout is by 11:00 am. If you need flexibility either side of these times, please contact reception in advance and we’ll do everything we can to accommodate you. The earlier you let us know, the better. This small courtesy to our housekeeping team makes a genuine difference to their day and to the experience of guests checking in after you.

Housekeeping FAQ
As part of our Green Tourism Gold commitment, rooms are serviced on request rather than automatically each day. Your room will be thoroughly cleaned and fully prepared before you arrive. After that, simply ask at reception whenever you’d like a full service, fresh towels, or amenities restocked — and our team will take care of it.
ust contact reception — by phone, in person, or via WhatsApp on +44 28 6632 6633 — and let us know what you need. Whether that’s a full room clean, fresh linen, additional toiletries, or a bin change, our housekeeping team will get it sorted promptly.
This is a deliberate sustainability decision. As the only Green Tourism Gold certified accommodation in County Fermanagh, we’ve reduced our carbon emissions by 85% and are committed to reaching Carbon Net Zero by 2030. Daily automatic servicing across 60 rooms consumes significant water, energy, and cleaning chemicals. Switching to a request-based model is one of the most meaningful changes we can make — and most guests find it works perfectly well in practice.
Absolutely not. Every room is fully deep-cleaned and sanitised before your arrival — no shortcuts, no exceptions. Our housekeeping team has won the NIHF Housekeeping Team of the Year award seven times, and that standard is maintained throughout your stay. On-request servicing simply means we don’t enter your room unnecessarily — your privacy and the environment both benefit.
